Cenit, a new lighting series made with Celium™

Following the success of Lapso, the second collaboration between Polybion™ and Natural Urbano introduces a made-to-order lighting collection crafted with natural ash and translucent Celium™ — Premium Cultivated Cellulose.
Polybion™ and Natural Urbano present Cenit, a new lighting series that continues their exploration of Celium™ — Premium Cultivated Cellulose in contemporary lighting design.
Launching on July 23, 2026, Cenit marks the second collaboration between the Mexican biomaterials company and the design studio following Lapso, a sculptural lighting piece exhibited at The Biofab Fair by Biofabricate during London Design Festival, What Design Can Do México GNP + Abierto Mexicano de Diseño, Design Week Mexico, and Maison Celeste. Lapso also received an Honourable Mention in the Trendsetera “Novedades” Contest, dedicated editorial coverage from design platforms including Designboom, WantedDesign, Grid Magazine MX, and Cool Hunter México, and is available through Adorno Design.
With Cenit, the collaboration moves into a more linear, versatile, and inhabitable expression of light. The series is designed for residential, studio, and hospitality interiors, offering a warmer and more accessible application of Celium™ in everyday spaces.
A suspended horizon of light
Cenit is inspired by the image of a horizon held in space.
Its name refers to the highest point in the sky in relation to an observer. In the series, that idea becomes a horizontal line of light: warm, soft, and atmospheric.
The design brings together a natural ash structure and translucent Celium™ layers, allowing light to pass through the material and reveal its tone, texture, and natural variation. Available in Natural and Smoke versions, Cenit transforms cultivated cellulose into a warm lighting object with a refined material presence.
Why Cenit matters for Celium™
For Polybion™, Cenit represents a new step in the application of Celium™ beyond fashion and into interior objects.
Celium™ is Polybion’s cultivated cellulose material platform, grown by feeding bacteria with agricultural fruit waste. In Cenit, the material is not used as a decorative surface; it becomes part of the light itself.
Its translucency filters illumination into a soft glow, while its natural variation gives each lamp a distinct character. The result is a collection that shows how cultivated materials can bring warmth, texture, and uniqueness into interior design.

Cenit is produced as a made-to-order lighting series and includes:
Cenit Pendant — Big
A suspended horizontal lamp for dining areas, living spaces, studios, and hospitality interiors.
Cenit Pendant — Small
A smaller pendant format for more intimate interiors or compact spaces.
Cenit Table Lamp
A closer-scale version designed for desks, side tables, bedside settings, and quiet corners.

Made-to-order
Each Cenit lamp is produced made to order, with an estimated delivery time of 5 weeks, as the Celium™ used in the collection is grown to order.
Because Celium™ is cultivated and each lamp is assembled individually, natural variations in tone, texture, and translucency are expected. These differences are part of the identity of each piece.
Cenit will be available through Natural Urbano and Vibe Lab.
