For the first time, finished pieces made with Celium™ Premium Cultivated Cellulose are available directly through a limited Vibe Lab Studio drop.
Fold Studies 01 brings Celium™ into everyday use through a family of folded objects developed by Vibe Lab Studio in collaboration with Polybion and PLEK. The drop is not presented as a prototype, sample, or future application, but as a limited series of objects that can be purchased, carried, touched, and used now.
The project began with a clear intention: to bring biomaterials into real, usable objects, and make them accessible beyond the lab, the studio, or the material sample.
For Polybion, this matters because material innovation does not end when a biomaterial is ready. It needs to be tested, handled, carried, and understood in real contexts. Vibe Lab Studio was created to operate in that space: translating biomaterials into limited drops that make new materials tangible today.
Fold Studies 01 explores that idea through one design principle: the fold.
Most everyday objects are built by assembling separate parts. They are cut, stitched, glued, layered, or reinforced. In this drop, the construction logic is different. Each piece starts from a continuous surface of Celium™ Premium Cultivated Cellulose and takes shape through folding.
The fold becomes the structure.
The material is grown, transformed, and folded into function.
The collaboration with PLEK brought deep knowledge of folded object construction. Together with Vibe Lab Studio and Polybion, the team explored how Celium™ could behave in compact accessories designed to be touched, opened, closed, and carried repeatedly.
The result is a family of folded essentials:
Fold Phone Bag
A compact crossbody piece designed to carry a phone and small daily objects. Its rectangular shape is formed through folding, with a flap closure, metal studs, and a chain strap.
Fold Card Wallet
A minimal folded wallet for cards and small essentials. Its compact structure is defined by the fold itself, without visible stitching or glued construction.
Fold Phone Wallet
A larger folded wallet designed to carry a phone, cards, and personal items. Its elongated format follows the same continuous-surface logic, with metal closures and an optional chain strap.
Fold Pyramid Bag
A structured geometric bag that uses folding to create volume and presence from a continuous material surface.
Fold Passport Sleeve
A folded travel essential designed to protect and carry a passport in a compact format.
Across the collection, the pieces are made with Celium™ Premium Cultivated Cellulose, recycled polyester backing material, stainless steel hardware, and aluminum chain straps where applicable.
Fold Studies 01 is organized into three color universes:
Dark Mineral
Obsidian and Basalt Bloom. A darker, mineral register that brings together a classic black surface with a more expressive black-and-white variation.
Earth / Sun-Worn
Golden Loess and Forest Core. A warmer universe that moves between dry light and deep green, placing the fold in a more grounded everyday context.
Tidal / Air
Pelagic Indigo and Natural. A lighter, softer expression of the drop, with blue surface variation and a more neutral material tone.
Together, these colors show different expressions of Celium™: dark, mineral, warm, grounded, light, and atmospheric.
Fold Studies 01 places Celium™ in circulation as something direct and usable. Not a swatch. Not a prototype. Not an idea waiting for adoption.
A material, folded into objects made to be carried now.
The limited drop is available through Vibe Lab Studio.
