At What Design Can Do México (WDCD MX) 2024, Polybion presented Celium™, our Premium Cultivated Cellulose, as a winner of the Redesign Everything Challenge. Our Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Axel Gómez Ortigoza, took the stage to showcase how Polybion is pushing the boundaries of material innovation by designing with biology.

We were especially proud to share our vision in our home country, inspiring a new generation of innovators and designers right here in Mexico. As a company born from the desire to revolutionize the material world, it was an honor to share our mission with an audience of experts, creatives, and young visionaries eager to reshape the future.

During his pitch, Axel emphasized how designing with biology is not just an innovative approach—it’s a powerful tool to address global challenges. From fruit waste to locally sourced biomaterials, Celium™ represents the next step in creating more sustainable materials that can transform industries.

We are deeply grateful to WDCD MX for providing us with such a dynamic platform to amplify our message. By bringing together the worlds of design and sustainability, this event creates the perfect space to highlight the potential of biomaterials like Celium™. Our mission at Polybion is clear: to revolutionize the material world with biology—and we are excited to keep moving forward with the support of platforms like WDCD that help us reach even further.
